TELEVISION AT NBL TOURNAMENTS IN
VEGAS & SAVANNAH
(Note - Changes and additions in RED)
Martial Arts TV (FlatFootFrog.com), a newly syndicated TV show airing this fall for any entire season (to March 2007) has announced its confirmed broadcast to over 70 million homes via “Comcast Cable Video on Demand” and over 224 cable networks for the season. The initial shows, to air Friday evenings on most of the cable stations, will carry a significant amount of the 2005 sport karate world champion title division competition from the NBL Super Grands World Games in December of last year. The first show will air Friday, September 8th and will include Shawn Prommar, Joshua Durbin, Steve Shockley, Mia Caldwell, Jeremy Butler and Alexandra & Dean Pyles. But the best news is yet to come. MA-TV will continue to be present at several of the NBL National Conference tournaments this year including the “Duel in the Desert” held August 4-5 at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas (www.desertduel.com or call 805-981-4333 for brochure) and “Survivor” held September 22-23 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Savannah, Georgia (www.nblskil.com or call 912-427-0435 or 912-294-4494 for brochure).
Please Note: Because the Finals at the Vegas and Savannah tournaments will be filmed in their entirety for MA-TV as well as for an additional pilot show, some modifications in the finals will be necessary. N-5, 6, 7 & 13 (Jr Musical Forms) will be replaced with N-2, 3 & 4 (Jr Creative Forms). N-92, 93, 94, 95, 96 & 97 will be the pre-selected junior continuous sparring divisions. N-42, 43, & 44 (Jr Musical Weapons) will be replaced with N-39, 40 & 41 (Jr Creative Weapons). N-27, 28 & 29 (Jr Korean Forms Grand) will be replaced with the final two competitors of N-57 & N-58 (Jr and Adult Traditional Self Defense).
Winners of N-15 (Adult Choreo Musical Forms) & N-49 (Adult Choreo Musical Weapons) will be allowed to perform in their respective grandchampionships without music if they desire. All eight men’s point sparring divisional winners will be run-off in the finals. The last two remaining daytime junior boys or junior girls teams may be held to be run off in the finals. The daytime breaking divisions will also be filmed.
These changes were necessary to accommodate the most usable events for television (due to possible copyright infringement musical performances cannot be aired). The NBL apologies for the changes but feels that the opportunity for television exposure justifies the changes. Please note that further adjustments may be necessary.
